I have found an old broken wind sensor on a rubbish dump made from alumium. From this I took the diamensions for the spoon. . I have heard, that modern windspeed sensors do not have any rotating parts at all. They use heat-wires and elktro_magnetism?…I have seen a foto of a bird who built his nest on a non rotating sensor. An original professional Spoonwheel has 3 Spoons diameter ca.75mm running on a circle outside edge 300mm. I have testet sensors on my cargo bike and I can adjust them rughly. I have modified a bicycle speed-distanze meter. Just a simpel magnet and readswitch. I can change wheel diameter/Umfang in the software.
I suggest to use 2 ball turrels (Kugellager) SKF 608 without lids, open strucktur: You can dillude the grease (Fett) with Lamppetroleum, so that there is hardly any friction. It,s an easy runner- and so should be life! Easyrunning! :0)
