This part is made to fit the Toto trip handle for the model CST853 toilet. The handle wears over time and the metal that presses against the flush arm begins to break. The symptom is a sticking trip handle that keeps the flush flapper open. Depending on whether the metal is totally broken or not determines if this fix will work.
This part is a plastic ring to reinforce the weakened metal piece which may be broken out from its flange and bent outward. This allows the flush arm to stick in the vacated void.
This worked for me and saved me $20 for a new trip handle and arm. How long it will last is unknown. There is no way to know if all the CST853 trip handles are the same. So, your mileage may vary when using this.
The broken flange on my handle measures 8mm by 15mm.

I printed in PLA since that is what I had loaded on the printer. So far it is holding up, but its only been 24 hours.
- Remove the flush trip handle from the toilet.
- Remove the screw that holds the flush arm to the handle.
- Press the broken and bent metal tab back into place.
- Press the reinforcement ring into place. (I did not use epoxy since it fit tight.)
- Reassemble the trip handle to the flush arm.
- Reinstall the trip handle to the toilet.
