Converted Snap Rover to Arduino Obstacle Avoiding Automatic Roaming Rover.

Have also attached the working Arduino sketch file.

Items needed for this project:

  1. Snap Rover - https://www.ebay.com/i/122959754766?rt=nc
  2. Arduino Uno Board -
  3. Arduino Motor Shield
  4. Parallax Standard Servo
  5. HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sonar
  6. Two adjustable voltage regulators (one set to 5V to power Arduino and second to 9v to power motor shield.

Per sketch use motor output 1 and 4 on the motor shield.

Sonar connects to 5VDC and Ground and Trig to A4 and Echo to A5 (Arduino pins)

Servo connects to (servo 2) on the shield.

Battery mount is designed for XT60 connector and toggle switch 12x20mm socket (similar type found on computer power supply boxes) Running this setup off 3S LiPo battery.

My motor shield for some reason did not have 5V to power the servo and sonar only 3.5V on 5V pins, so I connected them straight to the output of 5V voltage regulator which powers the Arduino.

Have fun printing.. Don't forget to like if you find it interesting.
