This is the ultimate electronics box for AM8. Don't look no further!
This is electronics box for AM8 / BLV / other similar builds similar to AM8. Double check your printer if it has the extrusions laid out in the same way as AM8.
Pimped for:
- Orange Pi Lite and for Raspberry Pi Zero 2 (Pi version is untested, please let me know how well it fits!)
- SMR Mini E3
Key features:
- Version for Orange Pi Lite and for Raspberry Pi Zero 2
- Footprint for small relay to switch lights or whatever
- Cutouts for all important connectors and SD card
- 120mm fan
- Lid cutout for 120mm fan & thought out airflow make it silent and cool
- Super compact, but also super rigid
- Built in zip tie holders
Required stuff:
- 120mm 12V fan
- Fan grill is not provided, there are plenty models so it's up to you which one you like
- 28x M3 brass inserts (5mm-6mm lenght) - the better ones with zig-zag pattern are recommended, but the cheap straight ones work too
- 24x M3 bolt 6mm length - black hex/torx head recommended for even more badass look
- 4x M3 bolt 40mm (for fan grill)
- 5x M4/M5 bolts and extrusion nuts (should be included with your printer)
- zip ties for cable management
Printing notes:
- No supports needed to print this. One small support pre-added in the model.
- 0.2mm layer height, 0.5mm line width.
- I recommend to slice in latest arachne based Cura.
- something like 50% cubic infill recommended for extra rigidity
Other important notes:
When connecting USB from SKR mini E3 to Pi, don't forget to cut power rail of the usb cable as seen here:
