Update 1/23/2021: updated the models and added 6x and 8x versions.

Note: 6x-part is tested and seems to work quite nicely. I haven't tested the 8x part so that one should be considered experimental.

This is a multi-material feeder part that I designed some time ago Been printing with the design for few months now with very high success rate. Some of the prints are shown.

The part is bit high, but that's because I wanted to keep the path angles as low as possible.

There's 3 different versions. All versions need 4 M6 push fittings on the top. One version uses M6 fitting also on the bottom, one uses M10 fitting (PTFE pass-through) and one uses collet ring and lock. The collet version also needs 2 M3 bolts and nuts to tighten the collet ring.

For the material changes, I use filaswitch post-processor: https://github.com/spegelius/filaswitch

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

Mk2.5s

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

30%

Filament: any PETG

Notes:

Use at least 3 perimeters. PETG recommended, ABS should work too. PLA probably can't handle the hot filament when pulled out.

There's a hole test part for testing the correct hole diameter. Current models are rendered with hole d=2.4 which seems to work fine when printed with [Prusa](https://www.amazon.com/3D-Printer-Prusa/s?k=3D+Printer+Prusa&linkCode=ll2&tag=thingiverse09-20&linkId=28c787aef7c5a20cf2004b821dd161bf&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl) MK2.5S. I'll add pars with different hole sizes if needed.

Post-Printing

Depending of the part, you'll need to do some drilling at the bottom (bridging is used to remove need for supports):

  • for the all M6 part and collet part, use 2mm drill to open the filament path
  • for the all M6/M10 part, use 4mm drill to open path for the PTFE tube and 2mm drill to open the filament path

Screw in the fittings.

For the collet part, tighten the collet ring with the nuts and bolts.
