This is a holder for a windscreen wiper blade head.

It accommodates those heads with approx 12.8 mm depth of metal.

Such heads can be picked up cheaply, or you can use an old one after changing them on your car.

I was dissatisfied with the window squeegee I had, it kept leaving smears, so I came up with this.

Simply slide it onto the blade from one side. Make sure the metal is flush with the back surface as you slide it into the holder, as the blade can slip into a channel that I've added to accommodate the rivet that's often used for mounting to a car.

Make sure the rivet head is at the top, as that's where I've made the channel widest. Centre the blade in the squeegee head. It should be a tight fit.

If it's too slack the you can probably tweak your printer settings to change the dimensions, or pack your blade out with eg adhesive tape. Too tight, then it's probably best to rescale the print.

I've uploaded 2 version, one for hand use, and the second fits on a painters pole, in the same way that paint rollers do.

Enjoy streak-free windows from now on.

10% Gyroid

Filament:

Generic PLA

Notes:

Printed this with the head wiper grip on the build plate, and the support touching the build plate only.

PLA seems OK, you may need something tougher over time. Printing orientation changes may help if you experience print failure of the pole insert along print layers.
