So my Flextail airpump kicked the bucket (died) a week before a backpacking trip, wasn't in the mood for sketchy lipo rescue and don't have enough time to order another one, yay!. So I printed this to dig myself out of a hole and inadvertently saved some pack weight 😅

BoM

  • One 3D printed nozzle
  • One 30L garbage bag (~ 8 gal)
  • Some electrical tape

Tools

  • 3D printer of your choice
  • Scissors (for clean cut of the tape and cutting hole in baggie)
  • Hobby knife (""exacto knife"") for clean up

3D Printing instructions/information

  • 0.4mm nozzle
  • 3mm layers
  • 3.5mm first layer
  • 3 vertical shells
  • 0.35mm Extrusion width
  • Basically tinker with your extrusion width and shells so you get 3-5 perimeter layers for optimal stregth
  • I printed mine with PLA, but you may choose other plastics.

Assembly

  1. Grab your garbage bag and grab a 5 mm (~1/4 of an inch) bit of the bag and cut it off, you should get a hole thats around 25 mm in diameter (1 inch)
  2. Put the nozzle in with the lip on the inside of the bag
  3. Use the electricians tape to affix the nozzle to the bag and seal it
Note: Use the tape sparingly to keep weight to a minimum
  4. Ensure there are no sharp/rough edges, if you are using a garbage bag, the slightest of roughness will likely tear the bag
  5. #profit

Approx weight:

  • Garbage bag ~ 9g
  • 3D print weight ~4g
  • Tape ~ 1g
  • Total Weight: 15g
