I started using eSun PLA+ refill and 3D printed Bambu Spool which uses less filament while being strong enough compared to other models available here, https://www.printables.com/model/282211-reusable-spool-holder-w-material-name-printed-in , and which works just fine, the annoying thing tho is that the cardboard refill is thinner than the spool so filament find its way there and things can get problematic.
I found the filament being pulled from the corner 3 times and didn't like the tension applied to it.
I am not sure if all the refill are the same size so you might need to tweak around.
I am also sharing the FreeCAD file so you can change it as needed.
