Description
This is a simple swing latch for keeping cabinet doors, gates, etc closed. I suggest printing in PETG at 100% infill. STEP files are included for resizing the throw.
Print Settings
NOTE: THIS DESIGN IS IN IMPERIAL, NOT METRIC. Choose “load as imperial” in your slicer software. The assembly in the pictures was printed at the following settings:
- Printer: Prusa i3 MK3S+
- Print Settings
- 0.4mm nozzle
- 0.15mm layer height
- 3 shells sides
- 4 shells top and bottom
- 100% infill
- Filament: generic white PETG
- Supports: none
- Brim: none
Print Instructions
- All components have a nice flat side to orient into your print bed. No supports are needed.
- I'd recommend PETG as PLA might be a little brittle for this application.
Assembly Instructions
- Place the catch plate on the edge of your door, level it, and screw it in place with #8 wood screws (your choice of length, I used ¾").
- Place the throw over the stem on the throw plate and screw the knurled knob down on top.
- Hook the throw through the catch plate, pull the whole assembly tight (so that the throw is under a tiny bit of tension) and mark the screw holes on the throw plate.
- Screw the throw plate into your cabinet.
- The throw should hook through the catch, keeping your cabinet door closed.
- If you need to resize any of the components, the STEP files are included.
