Adimlab Y Axis, Outside Vertical Linear Rail Mount with Threaded Inserts

Description:

This is a new bracket and belt holder to mount the OEM Y Carriage for the Adimlab printer.  It is based on designs by a member of the Adimlab Facebook Group.  This design is a little different from that design in that it uses MGN12H linear rails (originally design used 15mm rails) and the screw holes are designed for threaded inserts.  The belt holder is a slight remix in that it is a little more narrow and has a tab on it to engage the Y endstop.  

This will be a little taller than stock, but not by much.  It's lower and you do not lose as much Z height as mounting the linear rails on top of the 2020 extrusions.

Note that you do not need to replace the Y motor bracket or tensioner with taller ones.  This design will keep the stock height of the belt.  The belt holder has been optimized to be at the correct height.

Hardware:

Threaded Inserts:  8 each, 3mm x no more than 5mm in depth for the belt block

Screws: 8 each, 3mm x 6mm or 8mm to mount the belt block and the belt clamps

Threaded Inserts: 6 each, 5mm by no more than 6mm in depth for the carriage brackets

Screws: 6 each, 5mm x 6mm or 8mm to mount the carriage bracket to the Y carriage

Screws: 8 each, 3mm x 6mm or 8mm to mount the carriage bracket to the linear rails 

Printing:

Suggest printing at .28 layer height with 3-5 walls and 25% cubic infill.  Print 2 of the brackets they do not need to be mirrored.  These parts are orientated as mounted.  Flip them upside down to print.  No support is needed. 

12/12/2022 I have created a 3rd design of the bracket.  The bracket is now version 5.  It is more narrow than my original design to provide clearance for 40mm bed knobs.  I like these knobs, they work well and are a little thicker than most.  Use the smaller one.  https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2824131    

12/4/2022 Had to move the mounting holes for the X carriage they were off a bit.  The bracket is now version 3.
