Assembly

  1. Print the Base and run the Coin Cell Battery Holder wires through the hole on the outside of the base into the center circle. Add the CR2032 3V Lithium Battery now as it may be harder to open the holder later.
  2. Glue the Coin Cell Battery Holder to the base in the slot provided with the screws facing down, make sure the battery door opens outward
  3. Attach the Quick Splice Terminal Block (You can splice the wires to the star wires directly and skip the Quick Splice Terminal Block, but it will make it impossible to take apart if you want to store it).
  4. Print the Star. I chose to print it in glow-in-the-dark filament as it adds a cool glowing affect after you turn the LED off. Add a pause at 11.2mm. Slide the 3V LED Diode prongs into the 2 holes at the base of the star (you may need to use pliers to get it into place properly). Resume the print.
  5. Cut a red and black Copper Wire the length of the trunk and some extra along with a piece of Heat Shrink Tubing (cut in half). Solder the red wire to the LONGER 3V LED Diode prong. Solder the black wire to the SHORT 3V LED Diode prong. Slide the Heat Shrink Tubing over the prongs to cover the solder and heat with a heat gun.
  6. Print the Trunk and Branches (x2), run the red and black Copper Wire through the trunk and through the top of the Base. Add the Branches, it is important to do this before the next step as the star locks the branches into place.
  7. Pull the wires tight through the Base and attach all the pieces together by first putting the trunk into the Base, then carefully pushing the Star into the top of the Trunk (make sure you have the branches in first). If you have extra wire, now is the time to cut it to length and strip the ends.
  8. Match the colors from the star wires to the Coin Cell Battery Holder wires in the Quick Splice Terminal Block (red goes to red, black goes to black).
  9. Tuck everything away into the Base in the holes provided.
  10. You are done! Bask in the Holiday Glow!
