Nalgene Sipper

I designed this sipper after a downloaded model resulted in an in proper seal. Also it was printed with overhang which required support and was less hygienic due to the imperfections on the supported surface.

So I designed this model with the following targets in mind:

• Bottle must seal water tight
• Hygienic design = smooth surfaces
• No overhang = easy to print + nice surfaces
• Cone shape to compensate for variety in bottle neck dimensions
• Cone shape to give a good seal in the bottles neck
• “Nose collision free” design to allow easy drinking
• Double sided design to allow easy drinking from two sides, e.g. while on a big to reduce fiddling around.

How to use:

• Put in the bottle neck an press it slightly in. The cone will give a very nice tight fit. Minimal pressure required.
• To remove grab it by the drinking  holes or ply it out with a tool (e.g. end of a spoon)

Before printing:

I recommend you check your bottle neck dimensions because the dimensions may vary with such a big volume product. If you need a tighter or looser fit you can scale it a few percent in the slicer.

Print instructions:

• I recommend using a material that is save for food contact and can withstand the dishwasher.
• No supports
• 0,2mm layer for better surface (more hygienic)

Note 18.04.2024:

I noticed some shrinkage of the part (petg) after months of usage. I think it is caused by the extensive dishwasher usage. Please be aware of this.
