After messing with my Astronomy Camera Holder for a while I realized it wouldn't be terribly hard to virtually glue on a dovetail mount for a finder scope or a telrad sight. This would make it much easier to know where I'm pointing the camera.

Filament: Dikale PLA Black Post-Printing =============
Be prepared to do a bunch of filing and sanding to clean up any strings and elephants feet and other stuff that might interfere with a smooth fit. Kind of like a beach vacation after tax day.
The hex nut is a very tight press fit; you could preheat it to melt it in, use brute force and pull it through with a 1/4-20 bolt and some washers, file the nut down a little bit, or form a nut out of something like steel reinforced epoxy or UV curing resin.
I did a very light film of UV curing resin on the surfaces that will take the most abuse - mostly around the ring for the camera nose - to ensure the print layers stay solid over time.
