The tightener is designed to help press the Prusament spool sides to the cardboard centerpiece of the Refill spool. The tightener is very easy to fold. The parts fit together precisely, see figure.
Then use the tightener to press all the parts together by tightening the threads.
While the tool is not strictly necessary, it can help a lot. Check our manual for How to fit the Refill spool correctly to the spool sides even without the tightener.

We recommend printing the model from PLA or PETG.
Using the default Prusa Slicer print settings for a 0.4 mm nozzle is possible.
