I have designed a 1.75mm filament guide that is strong, easy to print, & uses a piece of 4.0mm OD PTFE Teflon bowden tube. By incorporating the PTFE Teflon tube, it minimizes wear on the guide or filament, yet promotes unrestricted movement of the filament. It can be used with various filament spool holders. I have tested it with an above the printer setup & having the spool holder mounted under a shelf, off to the side using a CR-10 filament spool holder on both setups.

This was designed for and tested on the Tevo Tornado printer, but can be used on other brands, especially the Creality CR-10 style printer. Please let me know what other models it may fit or if you would like some tweaking on it.

Dimensions are: 150 degrees, 15mm width & use two M5 screws with T-Slot Nuts to mount the guide onto the printer rail.

Future Support: This design should be able to support using the PTFE Teflon bowden tube from the filament guide all the way to the extruder to protect the filament and support all enclosed filament setups. As of 04-30-2020 I'm still waiting for my 5m of tubing to come in, so I can test this. Will let everyone know as soon as I can.

Pro Tip: No supports are needed when printing. The PTFE Teflon bowden tube should be 35mm-50mm in length & will be a tight press fit into the filament guide. You may need clean the out the hole on the guide "depending on how clean your printer printed the guide" before you can insert the PTFE Teflon tube.

Note to content creators (YouTube, Patreon, Educators, etc). Yes I understate that you are "technically" getting paid in the backend for creating content & thank you for creating that content. So to expand everyone's knowledge, you have permission to use this design in your content as long as you: State that it is not yours & acknowledge who designed it. Provide a link to where you got it from, so others can download & enjoy it as well.

BTW if you like my design, please don't forget the click the "like" button & show you appreciation.

Thanks & Enjoy!

Filament: Your Choice PLA / PLA+ Your Choice

Notes:

I have printed this on both setups listed below: rnrnA glass build sheet using binder clips to hold onto the ceramic glass bed that the Tevo Tornado has & applied a glue stick to the glass build sheet, so that the print can adhere to. Using Sunlu PLA+ black filament the initial bed temp was 70C, nozzle temp 215, no cooling fan, & print slow on the first layer (I had it at 25). On the 2nd layer to finish drop to bed temp 60C, nozzle temp 215, cooling fan high, & increase print speed back to normal. Note: I did use a skirt to prime the nozzle, but is it your choice.rnrnOn blue painter's tape that I prepped with isopropyl alcohol to remove the wax film. Using 3D Solutech PLA black filament the initial bed temp was 60C, nozzle temp 205, no cooling fan, & print slow on the first layer (I had it at 25). On the 2nd layer to finish drop to bed temp 50C, nozzle temp 205, cooling fan high, & increase print speed back to normal.
