For Christmas, I got a Bounty Hunter Metal Detector and Pin Pointer combo. Within 5 minutes of trying to get the pin pointer going with a 9V battery, the tab on the back of the pointer snapped and the battery casing wouldn't go back in. I noticed that the plastic on these things was horrible! The second tab snapped with only me flicking it. I figured the entire thing was made from crappy plastic.
So I Drafted up a replacement design for this pinpointer that uses threads instead of tabs and still uses ALL of the original electronics of the pointer.
I have taken it out in my yard and used it successfully to find a bunch of metal trash :)

Print slow with thick walls. rnrnPointerBody STL has an integrated support.it should be abot 0.5 mm in width and is used to ensure the top of the pointer prints well. rnrnOnce the print is finished, use needle nose pliers or a screw driver to CAREFULLY snap the support out.
