Car -toddler safe-

This is a remix of a car I found on Grabcad.com.

A few years ago, a co-worker asked me to print a car for his youngest son.Because kids tend to put things in their mouths, chew on them or throw them around, the challenge was making this car indestructible.

With the model from Grabcad.com I found a car that contained no sharp corners or filigree components. Unfortunately, the 3D model had surface defects, so I had to remodel the car first before I could consider printability, assembly options and safety.

I managed to do all of that with the suggestion provided here. The child has been playing with the car for 3-4 years without destroying it. - Personally a great success! –

The following parts are required for a complete car:

• 1x Body_right 
• 1x Body_left
• 4x cones
• 2x Front_wheel
• 2x Rear_wheel
• 4x Hubcap_part01
• 4x Hubcap_part02

To ensure security, I chose:

• 4x contours
• 40% infill (depending on the child's age)

Mounting material:

• 2x screw M4x25 DIN 912
• 2x screw M4x20 DIN 912
• 4x washers ø4.3/ø9/0.8 DIN 125
• 4x nut M4 / DIN 985

Be sure to observe the assembly sequence!

• Glue Body_right & Cones together
• Screw body_right & wheels together
• Glue both bodies together
• Glue 4x Hubcap_part01 & Hubcap_part02 together
• Glue 4x Hubcap_complete onto wheels
