Dump everything from your pocket in the tray with a filter. The filter with holes would drop your coins at the bottom and keeps your keys and larger items on top.
Designed this for Printables Catch-All Trays contest.
You can design your own filter for your own needs, different size of holes, mesh, anything you like. Created two versions, 100mm or 135mm.
100mm (10cm) diameter tray
- Base Tray - 103.6mm diameter (100mm + 3.6mm walls), 30mm height. (Catch All Base 100mm dia.stl)
- Filter - 100mm diameter with 25mm dia holes and smaller ones, enough to drop quarter coins. 2mm thickness. (Filter Flat 100mm dia 25mm holes.stl)
135mm (13.5cm) diameter tray
- Base Tray - 138.6mm diameter (135mm + 3.6mm walls), 30mm height. (Catch All Base 135mm dia.stl)
- Filter - 135mm diameter with 25mm dia holes and smaller ones, enough to drop quarter coins. 2mm thickness. (Filter Flat 135mm dia 25mm holes.stl)
110mm (11cm) Hex tray
- Base Tray - Circumscribed Hexagon 113.6mm (110mm + 3.6mm walls), 30mm height.
- Filter - Circumscribed Hexagon 110mm.
Printing
With this simple design, I would use 0.3mm layer height for the faster print. I uploaded gcode with this configurations. For the base, I set 0.2mm layer. height from 0-10.2mm layers, then switching to 0.3mm layer height.
PLA, PLA+, PETG, whichever the filament you like should be fine.
Design Your Own Filter!!!
If you want to make your own filter, simply create 100mm diameter or 135mm diameter, set thickness as you like (e.g. 2mm), design your own hole layout!
For Hexagon, design circumscribed Hexagon with 55mm radius then filet the corner with 7mm.
