HackerBox #0087 came with a nice TFT display on a circuit board, driven by a Raspberry Pi Pico W microcontroller module. In addition there is a BME280 sensor in the top right corner of the circuit board to measure relative humidity, barometric pressure, and ambient temperature.
As one of the projects, they provide a home weather station app.
This stand was designed so that you can put the weather station on your desk where you work.
There are 3 switches on the board, so the top of the case has 3 flap-style buttons that line up over SW1, SW2, and RESET.
The “speaker grill” in the top right corner of the case is there to allow air to get to the BME280 sensor.
The case was designed to hold the board with the flush-mounted Pico W--the project offers an alternate method using female headers as a socket for the Pico W, but that raises the Pico W too high off of the board.
Make sure you clip off all of the long ends of the headers from the bottom side of the circuit board.
As designed, the three parts of this case are assembled using ¼" long brass inserts for M3 screws.
A simple piece of adhesive-backed cork makes the bottom stay put and adds some finesse to this stand.
The original FreeCAD file is provided if you wish to make any modifications. The model has a detailed spreadsheet controlling many of the measurements. The measurements are all imperial (old dog new tricks) but you can swap in millimeters (use the mm suffix) if you wish and FreeCAD will handle it just fine.
