I had to replace an old small aluminium venetian blind and found an inexpensive replacement at a local store (The Range), but when trying to fit it I found that the mounting brackets supplied would only fit to the top or the outside edge of the window frame, it wouldn't fit to existing holes drilled in the inner frame wall at the ends of the blind.
The outside edge wasn't an option and it was impossible to drill through a reinforced window support lintel at the top of the window, so I needed to rethink the fitting, and came up with these mounting brackets instead.
V2 file includes holes for mounting screws in a pattern that matched the original blind brackets. V2a file is plain for drilling to a different hole pattern.
Screw through the end of the V2 file bracket holes, or drill and screw through the end of the V2a bracket,. Screw the brackets to the wall at either end of the blind with the opening facing the back or front of the blind, then slip the blind in through the space and slide the cover plate in place.
