I designed these grates for my 1st gen 4runner that had cracking/broken grating on the rear compartment doors. So I decided to create a YouTube video on the initial idea, the process of design, and making the parts. Would love any and all support you could give me! I printed these with my Sunlu S8 using PETG. I removed the old material using a oscillating saw tool (go slow to prevent melting), I cleaned up the edges using a file while checking fitment periodically, installed the heat set inserts, then installed the new grates!
Requires:
- Larger Format Printer
- Proper tools to remove old grate material.
- Safety Glasses
- Oscillating tool with fine tooth blade (recommended)
- File(s) to smooth rough edges
- 6 - M4 x 6 Brass Heat Set Inserts (soldering iron recommended)
- 6 - M4 x 10mm Countersunk Screws
