This is a horizontal spool holder to enable the feeding of filament from a Westinghouse WFD100W style dehydrator.

This is a horizontal spool holder to enable the feeding of filament from Westinghouse WFD100W/Commerical Chef CCD100W style dehydrators. It was designed with an open center hub in order to not restrict the recirculation of the air within the dehydrator. The outer diameter of the center hub is 50mm which should accommodate most spools.
The only additional hardware needed to assemble the spool holder is a 50mmx70mmx3mm thrust bearing and washers similar to this one found on Amazon.
It is recommended that you print it out of PETG or other higher temperature resistant material, and the platform and hub should be inverted prior to printing. Assembly is easy, just stack the base, bearing and washers, and platform as shown and screw in the hub to secure everything, as shown in the pictures.
Depending on the thickness of the spools, you may need to print/fabricate taller replacement sides for the dehydrator to fit the spool and holder as the holder adds approximately 30mm to the height of the spool in the dehydrator.
The horizontal spool holder can also be used without the dehydrator as a low profile way to feed filament from a shelf or table top. For this application PLA or any filament is fine.
