I designed this set for the "Chopstick Holders Contest". Here I thought of a group of people who can partly eat with chopsticks and only need a chopstick holder and partly do not know how to eat with chopsticks and therefore need a little help.
I have created two versions. On the one hand, a version for chopsticks up to 6.5 mm diameter and on the other hand for chopsticks with square handle up to 5x7 mm. To compensate for small tolerances and to ensure a good fixation, a leaf spring is integrated in the holder of the rods. If only a holder is needed, the chopstick can be placed through the first guide only and the second guide may not be needed at all.
The folding mechanism itself is realized by a spring.
All mechanical connections of the Chopstick helper are implemented via snap elements, which means that no gluing or screwing is necessary and the mechanism still works very well.
