This is a remix of Simomura's R2D2 Google Home Mini which has been cut into separate parts for multi-extruder printing.
Please be aware that this remix was not designed to be printed in pieces on a single-extruder machine and assembled afterwards. Use Simomura's original model to get everything at once in a single colour.
Print instructions
The print in the cover photo was done on a quad extruder Prusa i3 MK2 MMU as follows:
- ghm_r2d2_white.stl 3D Solutech white PLA (extruder 1)
- ghm_r2d2_blue.stl Prusa blue PLA (extruder 2)
I printed R2 standing upright (on his feet) with supports from the build plate only. I love the look of it, but if you're using a shared hotend multi-material system like I am, you'll end up with a very large and very solid purge block. It also takes a long time to print (27 hours for me).
(There’s no actual Google Home Mini in the photos because I don’t actually own one - this print was for a friend.)
