The side hook principle is the most minimalistic way to connect to two traps ends. It is surprisingly strong also.

Application
If you have a bag or something, that has a sewn closed strap loop that you need to connect to, there is no way around a slotted design. In my load tests I found that a hook that is open on the side, is actually better than a design that has a slot in the middle. This hook is tested up to 25kg, both in PETG and in PLA. (Your mileage may vary).
The hook principle is also much more convenient to put on and take off, compared to a slotted loop design. Still the hook will not fall out of the strap loop, neither under load nor under no load.
If you need this part for the more commonly used 25mm straps, I see no reason why scaling this part may not work in general. The maximum load may be slightly lower, as the lever of the hook towards the middle of the strap is slightly longer.
Printing
Printing this part is very easy. Just print it in the uploaded orientation. A larger number of perimeters is key to ultimate strength. I recommend 4-5 perimeters and 100% infill of course.
Assembly
To make best used of the simplicity that comes with this part, I propose to attach the permanent strap (the one that does not go into the hook, but on the closed eyelet) by means of a glued strap loop. Nylon strap webbings can be glued very well with super glue (cyanoacrylate) if you use a clamp and give it enough time to cure.
I cannot stress enough how import the clamps are. If you simply press it together with your fingers you will not reach the same pressing force and you will likely not have the patience to hold it long enough. If you have no well suited clamps, feel free to get yours here: https://www.printables.com/model/84103-one-inch-clamp-25mm-opening
Another way of forming that closed strap loop is of course by using a strap tensioner. You can find one as part of this publication: https://www.printables.com/model/415716-double-d-ring-buckle-for-20mm-strap-webbing/files
Disclaimer
This is a plastic part and consequently does have a limited strength. For my applications I feel very confident, but don't overdo it and use this part at your own risk.
