I wanted to propose to a very special lady so I needed to make it very special. My Fiancée (She said YES!) loves the water and being out in Nature. So I setup a tree tent and we camped out on an island. This 12 foot display was setup anchored in the lake about 100 feet off of the shore.

Each letter has it's individual float because I wanted to create the right effect with the sign being able to flow with the waves in the water.

I also needed to have a remote that would work at a great distance and needed it to have low power requirements because it wouldn't be able to be plugged in and needed to stay out there for some time. So I used 2 strings of fairy lights with 240 leds each and a 26000 mAh power bank to power each of the two strings of lights.

The remote that I found that would work up to 150 feet was 12 Volts so I had to include a 3000 mAh 12V power bank as well. These two power banks ( One 5V Power Bank for the lights and one 12V Power bank for the relay) were in each of the 2 power boxes and that is why the power boxes are larger to accommodate the extra weight and still sit flush with the rest of the letters.

Each box has it's own lid and gasket to make it water tight. The boxes and anchors holes were printed out of Black PETG. The Gasket was printed out of TPU. I used heat set inserts for each box so I could remove the lid repeatedly as needed. I also used heat set inserts to mount all the letters to the lids as well as the anchors to the bottom of the anchor boxes. The letters were printed out of the New Prusament Signal White PETG for that nice bright white look. The cover over each letter to help diffuse the light was also printed in the same signal white.

Everything prints without supports but this is not for the faint of heart. We are looking at 340 hours of printing. I was rushing to complete it in time before it became too cold to camp.

I apologize, I wanted to do a much better write up with steps and instructions as well as all the 3MF files but I just proposed and we are on a mad dash to catch a flight. It likely won't count for the contest but I will improve this as soon as I can for anyone that wants to print it.
Happy Printing!
