Kweld Turbo Tunnel
Designed to turbo charge electrode cooling
Place the cooler over the top of the electrodes and they go from 70C to 25C in just a few seconds.
What's needed?
100g PLA/PETG (ABS might shrink and cause inaccurate dimensions)
MT3608 Module Micro USB version
5V 1A> USB Adaptor
40x40x28mm 12V Fan AVC DBTB0428B2G https://www.ebay.com/itm/184923707842
6x 6mmx3mm round neodymium magnets
Optional 17x Pennies either US or UK (any other round coins <20.5mm will also work)
Print the base in its working position with 100% infill and with supports active. If you have a multi extruder printer I recommend using PLA or PETG as the support interface material because they do not adhere well which makes the supports very easy to remove. Print the lid with 100% infill and facing down so you do not need supports. If the top surfaces are not entirely flat when you have finished printing lightly sand them down. Add your pennies into the recesses and apply a small amount of adhesive to secure them (Try not to use CA because it can leave marks). The pennies are optional but they can add ~60g of weight which will allow the fan to be run at a higher rpm without it trying to levitate and skate. Plug the boost module into the USB adaptor before installing so you can set the voltage to either 9V or 11.5V, if you used the pennies set it to 11.5V, more voltage = more air and pressure but beyond 11.5V the boost module will start to get warm. Nip off the corners of the MT3608 boost module so the micro USB port can sit in the cut out (picture attached of where to cut). You also need to flush cut the pins on the back of the boost module, these need to be completely flat to clear the pennies which are underneath, once flush cut use plenty of adhesive to fix the module into place. Remove the PMW and tach cables (blue yellow) from the AVC DBTB0428B2G and then solder the + and - to the MT3608 module. Test everything and then use some adhesive around the fan frame to secure it. I used this fan because and it has soft start which might be needed for some USB power adaptors. If you use a different fan make sure it can provide similar pressure (at similar power levels) because it's this that gives the fan the ability to push large amounts of air over a very small area which in turn provides the intense cooling. When you fit the magnets add a small amount of adhesive to the back and then press fit them into place, use a flat surface so they sit perfectly flush. You can also add a retractable USB cable if you want a clean cable solution.
