I really liked the look of the original but wanted something without supports and a little easier to print. I combined the top and sides into one piece, then updated the Clear Glow divider so no supports were needed. Then made the Portal cap so the black inserts were the base and the silver just slides over it. Lastly I wanted to try something different for the LEDs so I made a 3D orb that the LEDs are attached to.
I was very pleased with how it turned out. I glued everything together but the top and bottom as shown in the picture. This way I can pull it apart if needed. It fits together so well you can't even tell the two halves are just snug fit.
FYI … all included files have been scaled to 90% of the original so it is only ~130mm on a side.
