I had difficulties measuring distance between holes with my caliper, specially when holes where not positioned at the same height or if there is things preventing to place the caliper without any parallax issue...
I designed this simple tool for this.
You will need two rods of M2.5mm (they are perfect for measuring distance between holes for M3 threads), some M2.5 nuts. Place one of the tie rod in the frame and fix it, and one in the slider....
To measure distances between holes, you will need to push the rods in the holes and measure the distances between the rods. The measure will required to be offset with the radius of the rods used (please note that you may remix the slider or the frame to change the diameter of the rods being used to adapt to more situations).
