I'm diabetic so I have to prick my finger, twice a day, with a sharp lancet to measure my blood glucose level. The used lancets need to be stored until they can be safely disposed of. I wanted a container that was easy to put them into, but difficult to accidentally spill.
The trap and bottle screw together with the same thread as a common (US) soda bottle cap.
I drew inspiration from the following two models to design the trap:

for the threaded portion of the bottle. The body of the bottle is my own design.
