Magnus Effect Rc Plane

I wanted to fly something that would get a reaction from people eat the club field, so I designed this!  

 14mm carbon fiber tubes for the mast/ chassis and landing gear. 

12mm carbon fiber tube for the rotor. 

18x12x4 low friction bearings.

 M3 bolts with lock nuts and m3 screws used.  

Rudder and tail is cut out of depron and hinges are used.

I used a 9 gram servo mounted in the tail depron.

 A small amount of silicone can be used if the parts slip on the tube.  The axle fill part should be glued flush to the end of the tube.   2x28mm outrunners used 1000-1200kv.

I used 8x4 inch props and they MUST be counter rotating or it will be near impossible to take off.

I used a 1300mah 4s any more and it might get to heavy.  

Prined in Pla but Abs or Nylon would probably be better.  I used a .4 tip with 5 walls and 10 top/bottom layers.  Lighter would fly better but would be less durable.

Rotors are printed in vase mode with 2 normal and 2 mirrored needed.  Discs of depron are cut for inbetween the rotors and at the ends with a dab of glue holding things in place.

This is a 2 ch aircraft, rudder for left and right and throttle for up and down, it pretty much flys at one speed. CG isnt to important.

It is top heavy until its if flying so you need to get it off the ground as soon as possible.
