I started working with ESP8266 chips a few weeks ago and needed some sort of case to place them in a proper way. But I wanted something nice that I could be proud to show, so I decided to design a transparent case with four metal screws to give it its own personality.
To retain the chip in place I also designed a back cover to attach the screws. As you can see in the pictures, I also made a white case to place the connections inside (if you need the STL, let me know).
I used 4 M3 Hex screws with rounded head.
Please note that I failed a bit (maybe half a millimeter?) with the exact location of the RST and FLASH buttons. You should take it into account and relocate them for your particular unit.
