I use this setup to clean my kegs and fermenters.
The general idea behind this is that the suspected kegs and fermenters are cleaned by means of a pump with the cleaning solution, rinsing solution and disinfectant solution. Since the solution is continuously pumped into the component to be cleaned and then runs back into the bucket, a smaller amount of cleaner is required. Here approx. 6-10 liters. Furthermore, the effort required for cleaning is reduced, since the connections in particular no longer have to be unscrewed, but instead can also be flushed through and thus cleaned via the 2 lines together with the connections. Separate components can be placed in the bucket.
Cleaning procedure:
- Pre-rinsing of kegs and fermenters (optional).
- Cleaning of the vessels e.g. with PBW
- Rinsing with fresh water
- Disinfection of the vessels e.g. StarSan
After cleaning, all components can be stored in the bucket.
This is inspired by the Bucket Blaster
You will need:
- 1x hygger Aquarium Pump, 4000L/H 90W
- 2m M16 Electrical Installation Pipe I used 4x32 cm for the legs and 40 cm for the water Pipe. The length of the legs and water pipe can varry depending on the bucket and Pump used.
- 1x 30l Bucket with Lid
- 2x Duotight Fittings
- 1m Beerline
- 2 Keg Connector (in my case Ball Lock Connector with Duotight Fittings)
For the future, I also plan to build a device for cleaning bottles on this basis.
