I use pliers all of the time in my work, so I've tried a lot of solutions for keeping them organized and handy. I'm not sure if this is a perfect solution, but what I like is that the rails at the bottom hold the handles, but provide wiggle room for pliers of different sizes; the elliptical shape of the body supports pliers of different shapes while allowing room to grab the pliers you need with no sharp edges or anything that might catch as you're trying to pull the tool you need; and that there is a drawer to store other tools that I use with my pliers so that there's no wasted space.
If I or someone else were ambitious, this could probably be fitted with a Gridfinity bottom …
The Model:
I separated the two parts so that you could print them in the orientation that works best for you, but I recommend orienting the stand vertically on its back face, like in the attached illustration. I don't remember how much clearance there is between the stand and the drawer, but it slides in without effort and without a noticeable amount of play with the print settings I used.
Printing:
Printed on my Anycubic Vyper in black PLA on a 60C heated bed at an extrusion temperature of 200C and 80mm/s, 20% infill with no supports (though I used Cura's experimental “make overhangs printable” which added material at the top/front of the rails so it could be printed vertically).
