Whetstone Clamp

With this clamp, you can secure a whetstone at a 20 degree angle and use it like a V-Rod sharpening system/Crock Sticks. Instead of worrying about the angle, you just have to hold the knife straight. See these videos for the technique:

This will hold whetstones that are  approximately 26.6mm thick and up to 60mm wide. (Here's the exact one I'm using: https://amzn.to/4398dXy). You can modify the file spacer.step (or remove the spacer) to accommodate thinner whetstones or thicknesses up to 30mm.

Instructions:

• Print all pieces in the provided orientations. I recommend using PETG
• Place spacer.stl over the lip of holder.stl
• Stick bolt.stl through the hole in the holder
• Screw the bolt through nut.stl
• Press clamp.stl onto the end of the bolt
• Place a whetstone into the holder and tighten the bolt until it is held securely
• Use the holes on the bottom to screw the holder to a stable surface. I screwed mine to a piece of wood that I can clamp to a worktable
• WARNING: When using, do not place your hand in front of the holder where the knife can hit it as it slides down from the stone. Please be careful with this and review knife sharpening safety before using it.
