The original frame is fine, but I wanted an easier way to hang them with just simple thumbtacks or small nails. I just dropped in a simple shape with a pocket for the nail head so it still allows for the plaque to go into the frame with no interference from the nail.
This also means you can permanently attach the plaque into the frame and still be able to hang it and move it around as needed.
