This is a remix of the Klipper Pressure Advance Tower by davorin.

I liked their OpenSCAD tower, but made my own customization to allow for indents on every level. This is achieved by a simple subtraction using the difference() method in OpenSCAD.

I've added comments and detailed explanations in the code. You can simple set the parameters as you wish.

Usage

I printed this at 0.24mm layer height in vase mode with no top and 3 bottom layers.

Using this model is different from the normal Klipper test as found in the documentation:

https://www.klipper3d.org/Pressure_Advance.html

Rather than changing the value on every layer, it changes on every step size as specified in the OpenSCAD model. To use this model, enter the following Klipper commands prior to printing:

Start by setting the cornering velocity and acceleration

SET_VELOCITY_LIMIT SQUARE_CORNER_VELOCITY=1 ACCEL=500

Then set the Pressure Advance step size. START is the starting value of the PA, set this the same as in the OpenSCAD file. STEP_DELTA is the step size of the PA value itself. STEP_HEIGHT is the size in mm of the step segments, as specified in the OpenSCAD file.

TUNING_TOWER COMMAND=SET_PRESSURE_ADVANCE PARAMETER=ADVANCE START=0.0 STEP_DELTA=0.05 STEP_HEIGHT=5.0

Motivation:

I was having problems determining my correct PA value and needed larger segments of the same value to see clear results. I like the feature of having text on this model made by davorin, but wanted a small line to emphasize the segments.

The segment depth is dependent on the nozzle size as defined in the OpenSCAD file and should print nicely.

Notes

The Klipper commands are included in the Start Gcode in the .3mf file, be sure to change this and the starting macros to your configuration!

Hope this helps!

Changelog:

Version 2:

  • Corrected text to be cantered if the width is changed
  • Increased the default width and depth to allow for a greater distance for increased max velocity with lower acceleration values
