This is the start of the project. I will post a link to video instructions when ready. You will need 12 center pieces, 60 outer pieces, and 210 keys.

I will add an STL for a key and a center piece that can be used for mounting.

After printing you will need to add the LEDs, the controller, and a power supply. This is not an easy or inexpensive project!

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 3

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Infill:

none, spiral mode

Filament:

Priline PC Polycarbonate blend

White

Notes:

Use a 0.8 nozzle, 0.9mm wall thickness, spiral mode
Bottom thickness needs to be 1.2 mm to create hole in bottom for LED

I prefer Cura for spiral mode because it allows more than one perimeter on the bottom - this helps with strength and adhesion of the spiral walls to the bottom. If you use PrusaSlicer it may be more fragile.

I used concentric infill on the bottom, that seems to be best to filling in with no gaps

Alternate an extra perimeter on the bottom for strength

You will need to slow down and use a lot of fan at the top of the pyramid or it will get too hot

You might try clear filament as well as white, but I didn't think it was attractive - test first

Post-Printing

cut off top nub

There will be a small nub on the top of the pyramids. Use side cutters to remove and sand briefly. That's all the postprocessing needed.

How I Designed This ===================

Sketchup and Fusion 360

I'm just learning Fusion 360. I did some of the geometry in Sketchup and then transferred the file into Fusion 360 to create the final drawings.
