Just a demonstration piece to show the different ways that bolts can connect to 3D prints.
I've sized it for the M3, M4, and M5 hardware I have, sizes may vary.
Includes:
- Self-tapping / tapped hole
- Threaded insert
- Embedded nut
- Drop in nut (Bottom)
- Drop in nut (Side)
Threaded insert sizes are based on the CNCKitchen threaded inserts sold in the Prusa store.
Modelled in Freecad… I tried to keep it as parametric as possible, however, Freecad struggles to keep track of edges after features or sketches change (topological naming bug) so modifying the parameters may break the file.
I printed it upside-down since that results in the least overhanging surfaces. Overhanging holes have staggered layers so they will print reliably.
