I love the satin sheets that I have on my Prusas, but as Prusa recommends, you should not use a metal scraper on it.  A while back I looked at the available scrapers to download and they are all a straight angle, and this was not what I wanted.  So I designed this one which has an arced end.  The models I saw looked very nice, and did work.  But not exactly the way I felt they should work.

When the end is a straight angle, it lifts the print quickly off the bed which at times is not good.  This model I have here starts out very flat.  And because of the arc it slowly lifts the print, then lifts faster the farther in you go under your print.  This helps to gently pry the part off and not quickly popping if off which may distort, or even break the print.

This is a typical printed bed scraper.

This is the arced printed bed scraper.  As you can see, by using an arc it will slowly start to pull the print off the bed.

This has been used on all my print beds and works gently and will not damage any print surface.  I have printed these in PLA, ABS, and once in Nylon with glass fibers.  That last choice was a stupid idea.  Sure, it worked great.  But later that night I felt a couple of spots on my fingers that was a bit aggravating.  Then I realized that was the glass fibers!  Ever install fiber glass insulation?  Stick with PLA or ABS.  While PETG will print fine, it is a bit soft and the very sharp tip will get dings in it before PLA or ABS will.  Because the tip is very sharp, it will start to get small nicks on it, but it still works fine.  And this is a very easy print, so print another one!

The first image is a render done in Cinema 4D with the Arnold Render and the second picture is of an actual print.  The third picture is an actual print in ABS using the optional ABS STL file I included to help you print this with ABS or ASA without an enclosure.

Printing

I have included three files, but you only need to print one of them.  The first one is just the ordinary STL file.  The second one is a STL file that includes a thin wall around the scraper if you choose to print this in ABS/ASA without an enclosure.  Finally, the third file is the STEP file if you want to make any changes.

This is oriented properly for printing, and obviously does not require supports.  This print will also fit nicely on a Prusa Mini and other 180mmx180mm print beds.  (NOTE: The STL file I included as an option for printing in ABS will not fit on a Mini.)  Standard settings will work fine, and I have printed them both at a layer hight of 0.15mm and 0.2mm without any noticeable difference.  Print this in PLA, ABS, ASA, or any other hard material (PETG is a bit too soft, but works.)  If you use ABS or ASA, be aware that it may lift off the bed while printing.  So either print it in an enclosure or print this with the STL file that has the wall around it to help keep the temperature up a little while printing to avoid some warping.

Conclusion

Really, all of the designs I have seen are fine and are better to use than a metal scraper.  But I feel that the shape of this scraper is a little more suited for removing prints off the print bed.

The lettering on top is there to give your thumb a place to grip as you pry off your print.  It's not there to tell you it's a bed scrapper because, well that's pretty obvious.

As with most of the designs I have posted, I designed this for my self but I felt that others may find it useful.  I first printed this when Prusa released the satan print surface so I have used it for a while now, and on all my printers.  So I can say with a lot of confidence that it works well, and on all print surfaces.

Good luck with all your 3D printing!
