This is a collection of stackable boxes, compatible with for Alexandre Chappel's 55mm grid system (see https://www.alch.shop/shop/assortment). This system is older than the popular gridfinity and i have tons of drawers and tool organizer that I use for this system, so i added my own storage box.
The boxes come in a number of sizes (expressed in terms of the 55-mm grid), heights (as fraction of “full” height of 75mm), and label/lifting tab:
- 1x1, 1x2, 1x3, 1x4, 2x2, 2x3, 2x4, 3x3, and 3x4 grid sizes
- ¼, ⅓, ½, ⅔, ¾, and full height
- label tag on long side, short side, or no label
They are stackable, which is very useful for keeping supply or spares in a depper box, with a shallow box on top for what has been opened or is in use. You can stack bigger boxes on top of smaller ones, and vice versa (though once you have 2x3 size boxes or large, it can be a little unstable to have short/narrow boxes on top of them). I use maximum-depth boxes for some storage needs, and in others I print a shallower same-grid-size box to sit on top of a suitable deeper one. Experiment!
The boxes have the depth inside. They are a few mm higher than a straight fraction from 75mm, since they nest which means a little more height is needed. But three ⅓ height boxes should be almost exactly 75mm total.
This should print easily in PLA or PETG, 0.25mm layer height, 15% infill.
I don't use a color system for organizing, though one certainly could! I often use these boxes when i don't have much left on a spool. I printed well over a hundred by now, and they are used for hobby spaces, office spaces, craft supplies, electronics projects, workshop storage – really useful!
See Alexandre's designs in his shop: https://www.alch.shop/shop. His models are released under cc by-nc-sa license. I can recommend purchasing his projects and plans.
While these models were designed from scratch in OpenScad by me, they take their inspiration from Alexandre's original work, and share basic angles and dimensions.
