Battery operated 60 Neopixel LEDRing CampingLamp

It consists of a base that takes an ESP32 Devkit V1 MCU, the Neopixel ring, a 1S4P Lithium battery pack, a charger/booster, a top and a screw-on diffusor on top.

The lamp can be operated as a desktop light or can be hung upside down by a string threaded through the three holes in the diffusor.

Sources for the 3d parts can be found at: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/kVt5zWckvNF

The program running on the ESP32 is WLED (https://kno.wled.ge/),  controlled via the "WLED native" Android app by CGagnier (from Google Play and also available on the iOS Appstore) or any web browser.

It can also be driven by an audio input via LEDfx (https://www.ledfx.app/), which I run on my notebook.

Printing instructions

All parts can be printed in PLA, 0.4mm nozzle, 15% infill, no supports. The diffusor should be printed with transparent filament - after all: the light is the main objective here…

The separator can be omitted, its main function is to allow for the charging light on the AmpRipper to shine through - but that light is rather weak and therefore barely visible.

All other parts can be printed in a arbitrary color - I used a “deep black” one.

List of materials

Power consumption is on the order of 500-700mA (most patterns) up to 3.6A (white, max brightness), so you may want to program the MCU on your PC before you connect the LED strip in order to not overload your USB port and also wire the LEDs in parallel to the MCU - do not try to power the LED ring from the MCU as the voltage regulator on the MCU will burn out!

I used a surplus pair of connectors from another LED strip wired “backwards” from the Neopixel ring to the MCU with thicker wires connected from the LED ring to the power supply.
