I use this gauge to understand how thick 3D printed walls and other items need to be when designing parts.

Print two each of the 1mm STL, four each of the 2mm STL one each of the 5mm STL and one holder. Arrange them in the following order: 2,2,1,5,2,2,1 (as shown in the picture). Place them in the holder, attached with a #10 x 1" machine screw and nut.
When arrange in this way, you can model/see any thickness from 1-10mm simply by swinging out the appropriate gauges
