I really liked Todd Pousson's design for an Olympic Barbell Vertical Wall Mount, but wanted to mount the barbell holder on a brick wall and use larger bolts to secure it. I designed the mount from scratch and added in the required holes for me to be happy it was not going to fall when bolted into my garage wall. I also gave the holder more depth to prevent the barbell being dislodged, and made the opening more narrow. (My dogs go through the area and I was paranoid they might knock it down).
The barbell was going to get scratched when the lower end bumped along the brick wall when mounting and retrieving the barbell, so I also made a bumper.
I have uploaded the source files to allow for easy remixing and modification if you want to use different size bolts, screws, etc… :)
The photos show the parts I used to secure the barbell holder and bumper to the brick wall, all available from Bunnings in Australia. If mounting in timber instead of brick, you can either just use the 14G screws, or head back to Todd's design :)
I printed the mount shown in the photos with 0.3mm layer height and default infill (20%). I also set minimum outside perimeters to 5 for strength. The top mount part required supports, but the bumper is fine as-is. The filament is red PETG from 3dFillies.com.
