Embrace Making made a great reuseable spool, but the nuts I was using kept falling out when changing spools. I personally love threaded inserts, and since the original didn't have a filament clip, I decided to make this Remix.
Bill Of Materials
- Models:
- This one
- eSUN_MS1_REV2.STL from Embrace Making's model
- 3x M5 Threaded inserts (I used CNC Kitchen's set)
- 3x M5 x 60mm bolts (56mm should also work, longer as well)
Assembly
- Place Master Spool side with the inner side up (like a podium, not a mushroom)
- Set Threaded inserts in the holes
- Caution: Make sure you set them as straight as possible.
- Place spool in between both sides of the master spool
- Caution: DON'T REMOVE THE CARDBOARD TAPE BEFORE CLOSING THE SPOOL. IT WILL UNWIND. Don't be me…
- Tighten the screws
- Now you can remove the tape holding the spool.
