A windspinner with two, contrarotating, 5 sail hubs.  Designed to be mounted on a piece of ½" EMT conduit tubing. 608 bearings (4) are used in the hubs and EMT support.  Two bearingsare used on the EMT support to provide a steady mount that allows easy rotation.   Individual sails are approximately 205mm long.  A single M8 75mm bolt makes up the axle supporting both sail assemblies.

Two groups of components make up the sail assemblies.  Components marked with “CC” make up one assembly and components without the “CC” make up the other. A 608 bearing is sandwiched between two hub halves.  Sails go into the slots.  M3 cap head screws are used to secure the assemblies, joining the hub halves and passing through a hole in the sail root. Print 5 copies of each sail type.

During final assembly the M8 bolt passes through both hub assemblies and is threaded into the base.  Make sure a “screwside” hub component faces front, facing the bolt head.  During assembly, the mid axle spacer is placed between the two hubs and a copy of the bearing spacer goes between the rear hub and the base.

The cap is attached to the front hub using cap pins, print 5 copies of the cap pins.  Cap pins are friction fitted to the screw openings.  Once fitted, the cap is press fit onto the pins. Some persuasion will be required.  No glue is required, friction is sufficient to keep things together and allows for disassembly if needed.  A raft may be needed to successfully print the cap pins. No supports should be needed during printing.  Print items with the flatest side down.

The tail fits into the slot at the rear of the base.  An M3 cap head screw secures it in place.

This model could be assembled as a single hub wind spinner, but would require use of a shorter M8 bolt.
