Chanukah Menorah Playset

Update 2020 pt2 We noticed my amazing son was trying to place the flames directly on the menorah - because I don't use candles! I have added menorah_oil.stl, which lets you put the flames right on top (It also still works with the candles if you like)

Update 2020 For those who got a bigger printer for chanukah, I added an STL with the whole menorah

A kids menorah playset! Designed for my wifes preschool class, the kids can take turns "lighting" the menorah by placing the plastic flame onto the candles.

Print 9 of the flame tops in an orange or yellow, and 9 candles. I recommend using different colors for each candle for a fun colorful look! The menorah is split in two halves to fit on the most print beds.

Notes:

No supports necessary. To make sure the parts are more robust for children, I recommend using extra perimeters and a good amount of infill.

The fit of the pieces is loose on purpose, to make it easier to play with. If you want a tighter fit you can scale the candle up a few % in your slicer.

How I Designed This

Menorah & candle designed in fusion 360.

Flame is adapted from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3221136. I used Fusion 360 to design an STL of the shape I wanted to cut away from the bottom of the flame & then used windows 3d builder to resize & cut the flame. The first flame I printed had a tip that was dangerously pointy, so I opened it in meshmixer and used to smoothing tools to make it blunt.
