This model was designed because I wanted to seal a key in a way that once the seal is broken it will be visible. With a printer this can easily be done in a small card shaped box like this one here. The Key will be inserted during the print. This way it can only be pulled out by destroying the box.

Keys with this maximum size here will fit inside:

3mm thickness of the Key.

By scaling you could also fit other keys.

Printing:

There are 2 Models (With and without heigth tower). The Heigth tower helps to see the Moment when you should pause the print and insert the key. But you can also add a colour change or pause in the gcode and just use the normal model.

The Key should be inserted at a heigth of 4-4,2mm

I would recomend following slicer settings:

  • Use PLA, PA, PC or some other hard and brittle material which will break instead of bending (if you want a reusable box you could of course use PETG or TPU, but then it won't be vissible if the box is opened)
  • minimum 3 Perimeters /Walls
  • 3 Bottom /top layers (if you use 0,2-0,3 Layer heigth)
  • 0,4 0r 0,6mm nozzle.
  • I used relatively slow bridging speed ( 50mm/s compared to the wall speed of 120mm/s) and a lot of cooling to make sure that the bridges don't sag down and don't stick to the key. But this depends a lot on the printer.
  • All other parameters can be chosen by yourself since they don't really matter for this model. Just use your standard settings
