This is a set of cubarithms, a tactile maths aid based on Braille, designed for arranging calculations physically on a grid. In standard use, cubarithms, invented by Alphonse Oury in 1886, help with learning written addition, subtraction, multiplication and division by placing marked cubes into a board in rows and columns, so the structure of a calculation can be followed by touch.
How it works
The set includes a gridded board and a collection of small tiles. These are placed into the grid to build layouts, making it easier to organise a calculation spatially instead of keeping everything only in memory.
In addition to the standard tiles, this version also includes tiles with X, Y, Z and T, as well as raised blackprint operators. This makes the set more flexible and can allow it to be used not only for arithmetic layouts, but also for building simple algebraic expressions and even systems of equations.
Recommended print settings
PET-G is recommended for the board.
The tiles can be printed in FDM and are fully usable that way. For the best detail and surface quality, they can also be printed in SLA.
No supports, brim or raft needed.
