You can stack it on top of regular Gridfinity, but the base is made of 21mm sections, so you can move it in smaller steps.
It might be useful for using up extra space on the edge of a drawer or box, with a 1.5 unit wide bin.
Mostly, I made this so I could test the half-grid stuff for another project, but thought it might be useful.
